PIAQUS: Portable Indoor Air Quality System

PIAQuS indoor air quality (IAQ) monitor provides a simple and quick way to determine levels of air quality. The device observes crucial parameters set by national and international guidelines. The main goal is to increase the likelihood for the public to monitor indoor air quality by offering a device that is slimmed down in both complexity and price. Currently equipped with four built-in monitoring sensors, but it can act as a hub to add many more.

Key Features

  • Four crucial IAQ sensors: temperature (T), carbon dioxide (CO,), relative humidity (RH), and total volatile organic compounds (TVOC).
  • Real-time WiFi monitoring: with cloud database.
  • Dashboard display and apps: with alert trigger.
  • Compact, safe, and easy to install.

Benefits

  • Spatial and temporal data resolution: provide quantitative information of IAQ parameters.
  • Track location: able for health surveillance and data management on diseases related to air pollution using harmonised data collection for health impact assessment.

Potential Application

  • Homes and other health care facilities especially occupants with asthma, allergic, eczema, and/or other respiratory illnesses.
  • Office/General Workplaces: to fulfil the 'Duty of Care' as per ICOP IAQ 2010 regulation.
  • Vehicles and transports: risks associated to in-cabin air quality for some pollutants.
