Dr. Sumarni Mansur

Dr. Sumarni Mansur is a Senior Lecturer in the Bioresource Technology Division, School of Industrial Technology, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). She obtained her PhD in Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2021. She also holds a Master of Philosophy from UTM and a Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences (Hons.) from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), completed in 2014.
Her research focuses on membrane technology and functional materials, with interests in biomass-derived materials, bioresources, water and wastewater treatment, and haemodialysis membranes. Her work centres on the development and characterisation of advanced functional materials for environmental and biomedical applications, with an emphasis on sustainable and innovative approaches to addressing water treatment challenges.
Dr. Sumarni is actively involved in research, teaching, student supervision, and academic activities in the field of materials science and technology. She is committed to developing sustainable materials and technologies that contribute to environmental remediation, the valorisation of biomass and bioresources and the biomedical treatment.
