Ts. Dr. Siti Baidurah Yusoff is a Senior Lecturer serving at the Bioprocess Technology Division, School of Industrial Technology, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). She began her academic journey at USM, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology in 2006. She later advanced her studies in Japan, earning both her Master of Science (2012) and Ph.D. (2015) in Bioscience and Biotechnology from Chubu University, Japan. Her research and teaching areas align with Sustainable Development Goals 7, 12, 13, 17. Ts. Dr. Siti Baidurah expertise is in Reactive Pyrolysis-Gas Chromatography (Reactive Py-GC), compositional analysis of biodegradable plastics, bacterial fermentation for bioplastic production, and biovalorization of agricultural waste such as oil palm wastes into solid biomass fuel with high calorific value.

Highly regarded in her research and networking, she established strong collaboration with various international industries and global academia sectors especially from Japan such as JET Corporation, Frontier Lab, and Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT). She was formally appointed by the President of NUT for the 2026–2027 term to serve as the Coordinator for Internship inbound and outbound mobility, benefitting students from both USM and NUT. In addition, she is coordinating students from her alma matter Chubu University, Japan for their research attachment in USM. In 2025, she was recognized by Stanford University and Elsevier in The World’s Top 2% Scientists list under the Biotechnology subfield. Her contributions to global academic networking were further recognized when she was awarded the Mobility Matching Fund (MOMAF2026) to lead the International Academia Mobility Programme partnership between USM and Universitas Syiah Kuala, Indonesia.
