The School of Industrial Technology, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) is inviting applications from qualified Malaysian candidates for permanent academic positions in:
Bioprocess Engineering
One appointment is available but it could be for any one of the following levels:

We are looking for candidates who are passionate about:

Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree and PhD in Bioprocess Engineering, Biotechnology Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field from institutions recognised by the Malaysian Government. Applicants must also have obtained a credit in Bahasa Melayu at SPM level.
Minimum requirements vary according to the level of appointment. For DS13, applicants should have at least four WoS/Scopus-indexed journal publications as Corresponding or First Author, together with at least one semester of university teaching experience, three years of relevant industrial experience, or two years of postdoctoral experience. More senior appointments require stronger publication, research grant, teaching, postgraduate supervision, consultancy and academic leadership records.
Preferred qualifications and experience
Priority will be given to candidates with:
✅ Professional certification such as Ir., Ts., Ch.M., or equivalent
✅ Experience developing international undergraduate or postgraduate student recruitment networks
✅ Postdoctoral experience with a strong research and publication record
✅ Experience in recruitment and promotion of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
✅ Experience managing academic programmes and leading research projects
✅ A strong record of creativity and innovation in teaching, research, consultancy, scholarly publication and community engagement
