The School of Industrial Technology (PPTI), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), successfully organised the Paper Science Awareness Carnival 2026, featuring the National Sustainability Awareness Competition 2026 on 13 June 2026 at the School of Industrial Technology, USM.
The event brought together 148 secondary school students and 22 accompanying teachers from Penang, Kedah, Perak, and Perlis to promote sustainability awareness through science-based learning and interactive educational activities.
Participants took part in a variety of engaging activities, including:

🤝 Knowledge-Sharing Session with Industry Representatives
The program provided participants with valuable insights into sustainable resource management while fostering scientific curiosity, critical thinking, creativity, and environmental responsibility.
From a sustainability perspective, the program supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) by promoting experiential learning, SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by encouraging recycling and responsible resource use, SDG 13 (Climate Action) by raising awareness of sustainable practices that help reduce environmental impacts, and SDG 15 (Life on Land) by promoting the sustainable use and conservation of natural resources.

It is hoped that initiatives like this will continue to inspire the younger generation to become environmentally responsible citizens and future champions of sustainability.
