Climate 4 Change (C4C) Hackathon
Faris Aiman Norashiddin and Mohamad Haziq Mohd Hanif, under the supervision of Dr Mohamad Anuar Kamaruddin, from Environmental Technology Division, School of Industrial Technology, Universiti Sains have participated in the Climate 4 Change (C4C) Hackathon organised by Friedrich Naumann Stiftung Malaysia, a 3D2N idea pitching session which focused on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) mainly water and sanitation hygiene (SDG6), responsible consumption and production (SDG12) and climate change (SDG13) held in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur on 4-6 October 2019. The hackathon, which was co-organized by Saora Industries, Climate Institute and Qlue participated by 28 selected participants, with 14 Malaysians and 14 Indonesians. The “Best Idea Award” which was presented to Faris Aiman and Haziq’s team was the idea of an Algae Integrated Air Purifier System which drew the attention of the panels during the pitching session. The main aim for this hackathon was to create awareness and build solutions in combating climate change on a larger scale.
