CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Dr. Mohamad Anuar Kamaruddin from Environmental Technology Division, School of Industrial Technology Universiti Sains Malaysia won two golds and a special award in Bangkok International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation and Technology Exposition (IPITEx 2017) held in conjunction with Thailand Inventors’ Day 2017 on 1-7th February 2017. Research product by Dr. Anuar named Ag-CLimesorbent – Novel Sorbent for Industrial Effluent Purification won a gold medal awarded by National Research Council of Thailand (NCRT) and a special award for the Invention awarded by Association of Polish Inventors and Rationalizers. Ag-Climesorbent is a derivative from carbon-mineral composite adsorbent which exhibits hydrophobic-hydrophilic characteristics for the adsorption of refractory compounds from industrial effluent. The utilization of natural polymer binder in the composite preparation ensures least impact of secondary pollution during industrial effluent treatment. Meanwhile, Dr Anuar also who is a co-researcher in Independent Floating Water Treatment Device (IFWAD) inventions bags a gold award by NCRT. This invention is jointly developed with Universiti Tenaga Nasional research team which aims to assist underprivilege community for having safe and contaminate free water for their daily consumption.
