The application for the Malaysian Sugar Manufacturing (MSM) Fellowship 2026 is now open for new Master of Science (by research) students interested in pursuing their postgraduate studies at the School of Industrial Technology (PPTI), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). The fellowship is also open to students who are already enrolled in the Master of Science (by research) programme for not more than six months.
The MSM Fellowship 2026 provides financial assistance amounting to RM60,000 over a period of two years, comprising:
- RM36,000 cash stipend;
- RM14,000 tuition fees; and
- RM10,000 research-related expenses.
Applicant Requirements
- The applicants must have completed their bachelor’s degree with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 3.25 in the relevant fields.
- Malaysian.
- Not more than 30 years old in the year of application.
- The applicant must not be bonded or receive any financial aids or awards from other organisations or institutions for the applicant's master's programme. If the applicant decides to accept the MSM Fellowship, the applicant must withdraw from other financial aids.
- Upon completing the study, the recipient of the MSM Fellowship must remain in Malaysia to work for the public or private sector for a minimum of two years. However, if the Fellow chooses to further his or her study immediately while serving the service bond, he or she may write to the Engagement Committee for exemption.
