Food Engineering research specialization under MSc and PhD Food Technology in School of Industrial Technology covers a wide area of food processing such as food preservation, canning, chilling, freezing, drying, extraction, phase separation and mixing. The research focus is more towards understanding the food processing part itself and its effect on the quality of food product. Other interesting research topics include predictive mathematical modelling, kinetic analysis and process simulations for describing changes in food components, mass and heat transfer during processing. Emerging topics such as sustainable food production, nanotechnology in food applications and food quality improvement through processing are also offered under this specialization.
