Effarizah Mohd Esah is a senior lecturer with over 10 years of teaching experience in food microbiology and food safety. Her main area of expertise and research focus on identifying and controlling microbiological hazards in food production, with particular emphasis on pathogens such as Salmonella, Listeria monocytogenes, Campylobacter jejuni, Bacillus cereus, and other foodborne microorganisms. Beyond her academic role, Effarizah has served as a consultant to various food manufacturers and processors, providing guidance on microbial risk reduction strategies, hygienic practices, and improvements to food safety systems. She is also a certified HRD Corp (HRDC) accredited trainer and has conducted industry-focused workshops and training programs across Malaysia. Effarizah also serves as one of the scientific panel members for the ASEAN Risk Assessment Centre, contributing to regional microbiological risk assessments.
