On 14th June 2024, Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar Universiti Sains Malaysia (MPP USM) from the School of Industrial Technology collaborated to launch a community-focused weekly food bank program designed to support students and staff in need. Running for four consecutive Fridays before the start of study week, this initiative aims to provide essential food supplies and breakfast to 30-50 individuals each week.

The program addresses food insecurity and promotes a sense of community and solidarity within the school which aligns with SDG 2 Zero Hunger. The initiative underscores the school's commitment to the well-being of its members, offering not only sustenance but also a network of support. Through this program, MPP USM and School of Industrial Technology demonstrates its dedication to fostering a supportive environment where everyone has the resources they need to succeed.
