Course Details
Synopsis
This course discusses the sources of nutrient in food, functions of nutrient in metabolic processes, nutritional deficiencies and its relationship to health. This course will also introduce the fundamental of nutritional status assessment, energy requirements, and nutrition and disease.
Course Objective
This course aims to introduce the scientific exposure towards the importance of nutrients for human growth and development. The interrelation between macronutrients, micronutrients and metabolism is linked to the human health. Health problems associated with nutrition will be discovered.

Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to:
1. Explain the energy balance, macro dan micronutrients mechanism, and nutritional requirements in human life cycle.
2. Differentiate nutritional status in healthy individuals.
3. Evaluate different dietary planning for special individual, disease prevention and public health nutrition.
