Synopsis

Introduction to statistical concepts and procedures. Basic statistical terms, t-distribution and uses; confidence limits; comparison of 2 samples; analysis of variance; linear regression; linear correlation and simple non-parametric tests.

Course Objective

This course aims to introduce the fundamental statistical concepts and procedures. It also aims to introduce the use of varies statistical tests using computer applications.

Course Content

Lectures:
 ➤ Chapter 1: Introduction
 ➤ Chapter 2: Measures of Location and Dispersion
 ➤ Chapter 3: Introduction to Hypothesis Testing
 ➤ Chapter 4: T-Distribution
 ➤ Chapter 5: Linear Correlation
 ➤ Chapter 6: Linear Regression
 ➤ Chapter 7: Non-parametric Test 

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to:
1. Show ability in using statistical techniques.
2. Use statistical techniques for modelling and analysis.
3. Give response to analysis findings and statistical tests for obtaining alternative solutions.
