Affective Domain (A)

Verbs for the affective domain (A) in Bloom's Taxonomy. The Bahasa Malaysia version can be found at this link.

The affective domain includes how learners deal with things emotionally, such as feelings, values, appreciation, enthusiasms, motivations, and attitudes.

AFFECTIVE DOMAIN A1 (RECEIVING PHENOMENA) - The lowest level where students passively pay attention (e.g., awareness, willingness to hear, selected attention). Ask, Choose, Describe, Identify, Use, Follow, Hold, Point to, Give, Name, Reply, Select
A2 (RESPONDING TO PHENOMENA) - Active participation on the part of the learners. Attends and reacts to a particular phenomenon. Learning outcomes may emphasize compliance in responding, willingness to respond, or satisfaction in responding (motivation). Read, Assist, Aid, Conform, Report, Perform, Practice, Answer, Select, Recite, Comply, Discuss, Write, Greet, Present, Form, Help
A3 (VALUING) - Assigns some value to an object, phenomenon or piece of information. This ranges from simple acceptance to the more complex state of commitment. Demonstrate, Study, Invite, Work, Report, Explain, Select, Join, Initiate, Justify, Propose, Share, Follow, Differentiate
A4 (ORGANIZING VALUES) - Putting together different values, information, ideas; accommodating them with their own knowledge. Organizes values into priorities by contrasting different values, resolving conflicts between them, and creating a unique value system. The emphasis is on comparing, relating, and synthesizing values. A5 (INTERNALIZING VALUES) - Have a particular value or belief that now influences their behaviour and becomes a characteristic. The behaviour is pervasive, consistent, predictable, and most importantly, characteristic of the learner. Instructional objectives are concerned with the student's general patterns of adjustment (personal, social, emotional).
