Psychomotor Domain (P)

Verbs for the psychomotor domain (P) in Bloom's Taxonomy. The Bahasa Malaysia version is at this link.

The psychomotor domain focuses on performing sequences of motor activities to a specified level of accuracy, smoothness, rapidity, or force. Underlying the motor activity is cognitive understanding, which can be linked to Bloom's Taxonomy.

PSYCHOMOTOR DOMAIN P1 (PERCEPTION) - The ability to use sensory cues to guide motor activity. This ranges from sensory stimulation, through cue selection, to translation Detect, Describe, Differentiate, Isolate, Distinguish, Choose, Select, Relate, Identify
P2 (SET) - Readiness to act. Knows and acts process. The ability to perform specific actions by memory or following instruction Proceed, Move, State, Display, Begin, Explain, React, Show, Volunteering
P3 (GUIDED RESPONSE) - The early stages of learning a complex skill that includes imitation and trial and error. Adequacy of performance is achieved by practicing. Copy, React, Trace, Respond, Reproduce, Follow
P4 (MECHANISM) - This is the intermediate stage in learning a complex skill. The student should be able to execute the motor activity with some confidence. Mix, Display, Heat, Assemble, Dismantle, Manipulate, Sketch, Measure, Calibrate, Construct, Mend, Organize, Grind, Fasten, Fix
P5 (COMPLEX OVERT RESPONSE) - At this level, the learner must be able to perform the psychomotor activity with a high degree of precision. Assemble, Calibrate, Construct, Build, Display, Dismantle, Mend, Fix, Fasten, Measure, Sketch, Manipulate, Mix, Organize
P6 (ADAPTATION) - The learner must be able to modify the psychomotor activity for enhanced efficiency. Alter, Adapt, Vary, Change, Rearrange, Reorganize, Revise
P7 (ORIGINATION) - The learner would be able to come up with new movements to perform the motor activity. Learning outcomes emphasize creativity based upon highly developed skills. Arrange, Originate, Create, Build, Construct, Design, Compose, Combine, Initiate
