Synopsis

This course emphasises on the importance of fibre properties in papermaking; analyses and measurement techniques of paper properties, including physical properties, mechanical strength, and optical properties. Besides, this course also discusses various additives that are used in the paper industry including sizing agents, dry and wet strength additives, fillers, retention aids, surface sizing, dyes and pigments and brightening agents.
