Ts. Dr. Md. Sohrab Hossain is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the School of Industrial Technology, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). Dr. Sohrab has obtained his PhD degree in Environmental Technology from Universiti Sains Malaysia. He has expertise in supercritical fluids technology, hazardous waste management, wastewater treatment, and waste to biofuel production. One of his core research areas is to develop methods for the production of biofuels from waste materials including food waste, sewage sludge. Dr. Sohrab has published over 60 research articles in high-impact indexed journals, patents, book chapters, and presentations at international conferences. He has developed a method in the area of sustainable solid waste management using supercritical fluid sterilization technology, which has been worldwide recognized by researchers. He has won several Gold and Silver Medals as the main and a Co-inventor in exhibitions at the national and international levels including the Malaysia Technology Expo 2014 (MTE-2014) and International Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition (ITEX-2013).
